107 : 1 Oh give thanks to theLord,for he is good,for his steadfast love endures forever!
107 : 2 Letthe redeemed of theLordsay so,whom he hasredeemed from trouble
107 : 3 andgathered in from the lands,from the east and from the west,from the north and from the south.
107 : 4 Somewandered in desert wastes,finding no wayto a city to dwell in;
107 : 5 hungry and thirsty,their soulfainted within them.
107 : 6 Then theycried to theLordin their trouble,and he delivered them from their distress.
107 : 7 He led them bya straight waytill they reacheda city to dwell in.
107 : 8 Let them thank theLordfor his steadfast love,for his wondrous works to the children of man!
107 : 9 For hesatisfies the longing soul,and the hungry soul he fills with good things.
107 : 10 Some sat in darkness and inthe shadow of death,prisoners inaffliction and in irons,
107 : 11 for theyhad rebelled against the words of God,andspurned the counsel of the Most High.
107 : 12 So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor;they fell down,with none to help.
107 : 13 Then they cried to theLordin their trouble,and he delivered them from their distress.
107 : 14 He brought them out ofdarkness and the shadow of death,andburst their bonds apart.
107 : 15 Let them thank theLordfor his steadfast love,for his wondrous works to the children of man!
107 : 16 For heshatters the doors of bronzeand cuts in two the bars of iron.
107 : 17 Some werefools through their sinful ways,and because of their iniquities suffered affliction;
107 : 18 they loathed any kind of food,and theydrew near tothe gates of death.
107 : 19 Then they cried to theLordin their trouble,and he delivered them from their distress.
107 : 20 Hesent out his word andhealed them,anddelivered them from their destruction.
107 : 21 Let them thank theLordfor his steadfast love,for his wondrous works to the children of man!
107 : 22 And let themoffer sacrifices of thanksgiving,andtell of his deeds insongs of joy!
107 : 23 Somewent down to the sea in ships,doing business on the great waters;
107 : 24 they saw the deeds of theLord,his wondrous works in the deep.
107 : 25 For hecommanded andraised the stormy wind,which lifted up the waves of the sea.
107 : 26 They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths;their couragemelted away in their evil plight;
107 : 27 they reeled andstaggered like drunken menandwere at their wits' end.
107 : 28 Then they cried to theLordin their trouble,and he delivered them from their distress.
107 : 29 Hemade the storm be still,and the waves of the sea were hushed.
107 : 30 Then they were glad that the waterswere quiet,and he brought them to their desired haven.
107 : 31 Let them thank theLordfor his steadfast love,for his wondrous works to the children of man!
107 : 32 Let themextol him inthe congregation of the people,and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
107 : 33 Heturns rivers into a desert,springs of water into thirsty ground,
107 : 34 a fruitful land into a salty waste,because of the evil of its inhabitants.
107 : 35 Heturns a desert into pools of water,a parched land into springs of water.
107 : 36 And there he lets the hungry dwell,and they establisha city to live in;
107 : 37 they sow fields and plant vineyardsand get a fruitful yield.
107 : 38 By his blessing they multiply greatly,and he does not let their livestock diminish.
107 : 39 When they are diminished and brought lowthrough oppression, evil, and sorrow,
107 : 40 he pours contempt on princesandmakes them wanderin trackless wastes;
107 : 41 buthe raises up the needy out of afflictionandmakes their families like flocks.
107 : 42 The upright see it and are glad,andall wickedness shuts its mouth.
107 : 43 Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things;let them consider the steadfast love of theLord.
