109 : 1 Be not silent, OGod of my praise!
109 : 2 For wicked anddeceitful mouths are opened against me,speaking against me with lying tongues.
109 : 3 They encircle me with words of hate,and attack mewithout cause.
109 : 4 In return for my love theyaccuse me,but Igive myself to prayer.
109 : 5 So theyreward me evil for good,and hatred for my love.
109 : 6 Appoint a wicked managainst him;let an accuser standat his right hand.
109 : 7 When he is tried, let him come forth guilty;let hisprayer be counted as sin!
109 : 8 May hisdays be few;mayanother take hisoffice!
109 : 9 May hischildren be fatherlessand his wife a widow!
109 : 10 May his childrenwander about and beg,seeking food far from the ruins they inhabit!
109 : 11 Maythe creditor seize all that he has;maystrangers plunder the fruits of his toil!
109 : 12 Let there be none toextend kindness to him,nor any topity his fatherless children!
109 : 13 May hisposterity be cut off;may hisname be blotted out in the second generation!
109 : 14 Maythe iniquity of his fathers be remembered before theLord,and let not the sin of his mother beblotted out!
109 : 15 Let them be before theLordcontinually,that he maycut off the memory of them from the earth!
109 : 16 For he did not remember to show kindness,but pursuedthe poor and needyandthe brokenhearted, to put them to death.
109 : 17 He loved to curse; let curses comeupon him!He did not delight in blessing; may it be farfrom him!
109 : 18 Heclothed himself with cursing as his coat;may itsoakinto his body like water,like oil into his bones!
109 : 19 May it be like a garment that he wraps around him,like a belt that he puts on every day!
109 : 20 May this be the reward of myaccusers from theLord,of those who speak evil against my life!
109 : 21 But you, OGodmy Lord,deal on my behalffor your name's sake;because yoursteadfast love is good, deliver me!
109 : 22 For I ampoor and needy,and my heart is stricken within me.
109 : 23 I am gone likea shadow at evening;I amshaken off like a locust.
109 : 24 My knees are weakthrough fasting;mybody has become gaunt, with no fat.
109 : 25 I aman object of scorn to my accusers;when they see me, theywag their heads.
109 : 26 Help me, OLordmy God!Save me according to your steadfast love!
109 : 27 Let themknow that this is your hand;you, OLord, have done it!
109 : 28 Let them curse, but you will bless!They arise and are put to shame, butyour servant will be glad!
109 : 29 May my accusers beclothed with dishonor;may theybe wrapped in their own shame as in a cloak!
109 : 30 With my mouth I will give great thanks to theLord;I willpraise him in the midst of the throng.
109 : 31 For he standsat the right hand of the needy one,to save him from those who condemn his soul to death.
