Library > Bible versions > The Message (MSG Bible) > Psalms > 27 > Psalms   27 : 1 TheLordis mylight and mysalvation;whom shall I fear?TheLordis the strongholdof my life;of whom shall I be afraid? 27 : 2 When evildoers assail metoeat up my flesh,my adversaries and foes,it is they who stumble and fall. 27 : 3 Though an army encamp against me,my heart shall not fear;though war arise against me,yetI will be confident. 27 : 4 One thing have I asked of theLord,that will I seek after:that I maydwell in the house of theLordall the days of my life,to gaze uponthe beauty of theLordand to inquirein his temple. 27 : 5 For he willhide me in his shelterin the day of trouble;he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;he willlift me high upon a rock. 27 : 6 And now myhead shall be lifted upabove my enemies all around me,and I will offer in his tentsacrifices with shouts ofjoy;I will sing and make melody to theLord. 27 : 7 Hear, OLord, when I cry aloud;be gracious to me and answer me! 27 : 8 You have said,Seekmy face.My heart says to you,Your face,Lord, do I seek. 27 : 9 Hide not your face from me.Turn not your servant away in anger,O you who have been my help.Cast me not off; forsake me not,O God of my salvation! 27 : 10 Formy father and my mother have forsaken me,but theLordwilltake me in. 27 : 11 Teach me your way, OLord,and lead me ona level pathbecause of my enemies. 27 : 12 Give me not up to the will of my adversaries;forfalse witnesses have risen against me,and theybreathe out violence. 27 : 13 I believethat I shall look uponthe goodness of theLordinthe land of the living! 27 : 14 Wait for theLord;be strong, and let your heart take courage;wait for theLord!
