31 : 1 In you, OLord, do Itake refuge;let me never be put to shame;in yourrighteousness deliver me!

31 : 2 Incline your ear to me;rescue me speedily!Bea rock ofrefuge for me,a strong fortress to save me!

31 : 3 For you are my rock and my fortress;and for yourname's sake you lead me and guide me;

31 : 4 youtake me out ofthe net they have hidden for me,for you are myrefuge.

31 : 5 Into your hand I commit my spirit;you have redeemed me, OLord,faithful God.

31 : 6 Ihatethose who payregard to worthlessidols,but I trust in theLord.

31 : 7 I will rejoice and be glad in your steadfast love,because you have seen my affliction;you haveknown the distress of my soul,

31 : 8 and you have notdelivered me into the hand of the enemy;you have set my feet ina broad place.

31 : 9 Be gracious to me, OLord, for I amin distress;my eye is wasted from grief;my soul and my body also.

31 : 10 For my life is spent with sorrow,and my years with sighing;my strength fails because of my iniquity,andmy bones waste away.

31 : 11 Because of all my adversaries I have becomea reproach,especially to myneighbors,and an object of dread to my acquaintances;those who see me in the streetflee from me.

31 : 12 I have beenforgotten like one who is dead;I have become likea broken vessel.
|
|
31 : 13 For Ihear the whispering of many&emdash;terror on every side!&emdash;as they scheme together against me,as they plot to take my life.

31 : 14 But Itrust in you, OLord;I say,You are my God.
|
|
31 : 15 Mytimes are in your hand;rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!

31 : 16 Make your face shine on your servant;save me in your steadfast love!
|
|
31 : 17 OLord,let me not be put to shame,for I call upon you;let the wicked be put to shame;let them gosilently to Sheol.

31 : 18 Let the lying lips be mute,whichspeakinsolently against the righteousin pride and contempt.
|
|
31 : 19 Oh, how abundant is your goodness,which you have stored up for those who fear youand worked for those who take refuge in you,in the sight of the children of mankind!

31 : 20 Inthe cover of your presence you hide themfrom the plots of men;youstore them in your shelterfrom the strife of tongues.
|
|
31 : 21 Blessed be theLord,for he has wondrouslyshown his steadfast love to mewhen I was ina besieged city.
|
|
31 : 22 I had said in myalarm,I amcut off fromyour sight.But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercywhen I cried to you for help.

|
31 : 23 Love theLord, all you hissaints!TheLordpreserves the faithfulbut abundantlyrepays the one who acts in pride.

31 : 24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage,all you who wait for theLord!
