Library > Bible versions > ESV (English Standard Version) > Psalms > 33 > Psalms   33 : 1 Shout for joy in theLord, O you righteous!Praise befits the upright. 33 : 2 Give thanks to theLordwith thelyre;make melody to him withthe harp often strings! 33 : 3 Sing to hima new song;play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. 33 : 4 For the word of theLordis upright,and all his work is done infaithfulness. 33 : 5 Heloves righteousness and justice;the earth is full of the steadfast love of theLord. 33 : 6 Bythe word of theLordthe heavens were made,and bythe breath of his mouth alltheir host. 33 : 7 He gathers the waters of the sea asa heap;heputs the deeps in storehouses. 33 : 8 Let all the earth fear theLord;let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him! 33 : 9 Forhe spoke, and it came to be;he commanded, and it stood firm. 33 : 10 TheLordbrings the counsel of the nations to nothing;he frustrates the plans of the peoples. 33 : 11 The counsel of theLordstands forever,the plans of his heart to all generations. 33 : 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is theLord,the people whom he haschosen as his heritage! 33 : 13 TheLordlooks down from heaven;he sees all the children of man; 33 : 14 fromwhere he sits enthroned helooks outon all the inhabitants of the earth, 33 : 15 he who fashions the hearts of them alland observes all their deeds. 33 : 16 The king is not saved by his great army;a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. 33 : 17 The war horse is a false hope for salvation,and by its great might it cannot rescue. 33 : 18 Behold,the eye of theLordis on those who fear him,on those who hope in his steadfast love, 33 : 19 that he maydeliver their soul from deathand keep them alive infamine. 33 : 20 Our soulwaits for theLord;he is ourhelp andour shield. 33 : 21 For our heart isglad in him,because wetrust in his holy name. 33 : 22 Let your steadfast love, OLord, be upon us,even as we hope in you.
