38 : 1 OLord,rebuke me not in your anger,nor discipline me in your wrath!

38 : 2 For yourarrows have sunk into me,and your handhas come down on me.

|
38 : 3 There isno soundness in my fleshbecause of your indignation;there is no health in mybonesbecause of my sin.
|
|
38 : 4 For myiniquities have gone over my head;like a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.
|
|
38 : 5 My wounds stink and festerbecause of my foolishness,
|
|
38 : 6 I amutterly bowed down andprostrate;all the day Igo about mourning.
|
|
38 : 7 For my sides are filled with burning,and there isno soundness in my flesh.
|
|
38 : 8 I am feeble and crushed;Igroan because of the tumult of my heart.
|
|
38 : 9 O Lord, all my longing is before you;mysighing is not hidden from you.
|

38 : 10 My heart throbs; my strength fails me,andthe light of my eyes&emdash;it also has gone from me.

38 : 11 Myfriends and companionsstand aloof from myplague,and my nearest kinstand far off.
|
|
38 : 12 Those who seek my lifelay their snares;those who seek my hurtspeak of ruinand meditatetreachery all day long.

|
38 : 13 But I am like a deaf man; I do not hear,likea mute man who does not open his mouth.
|
|
38 : 14 I have become like a man who does not hear,and in whose mouth are norebukes.
|
|
38 : 15 But foryou, OLord, do I wait;it is you, O Lord my God, who will answer.
|
|
38 : 16 For I said,Onlylet them not rejoice over me,whoboast against me when myfoot slips!
|
|
38 : 17 For I amready to fall,and my pain is ever before me.
|
|
38 : 18 Iconfess my iniquity;I amsorry for my sin.
|
|
38 : 19 But my foes are vigorous, they are mighty,and many are those who hate mewrongfully.
|
|
38 : 20 Those whorender me evil for goodaccuse me because Ifollow after good.
|
|
38 : 21 Do not forsake me, OLord!O my God, be notfar from me!
|
|
38 : 22 Make haste to help me,O Lord, mysalvation!
