48 : 1 Great is theLordand greatly to be praisedinthe city of our God!Hisholy mountain,

48 : 2 beautiful in elevation,isthe joy of all the earth,Mount Zion, in the far north,the city of the great King.

48 : 3 Within her citadels Godhas made himself known as a fortress.

48 : 4 For behold,the kings assembled;they came on together.

48 : 5 As soon as they saw it, they were astounded;they were in panic; they took to flight.

48 : 6 Trembling took hold of them there,anguishas of a woman in labor.
|
48 : 7 Bythe east wind youshatteredthe ships ofTarshish.
|
48 : 8 As we have heard, so have we seenin the city of theLordof hosts,inthe city of our God,which God willestablish forever.Selah

48 : 9 We have thought on yoursteadfast love, O God,in the midst of your temple.

48 : 10 As yourname, O God,so your praise reaches tothe ends of the earth.Your right hand is filled with righteousness.

48 : 11 Let MountZion be glad!Letthe daughters of Judah rejoicebecause of your judgments!

48 : 12 Walk about Zion, go around her,number her towers,

48 : 13 consider well herramparts,go through her citadels,that you may tell the next generation

48 : 14 that this is God,our God forever and ever.He willguide us forever.
