89 : 1 I will sing ofthe steadfast love of theLord, forever;with my mouth I will make known yourfaithfulness to all generations.
89 : 2 For I said,Steadfast love will be built up forever;in the heavensyou will establish yourfaithfulness.
89 : 3 You have said,I have madea covenant with mychosen one;I havesworn to David my servant:
89 : 4 I will establish youroffspring forever,and build yourthrone for all generations.Selah
89 : 5 Letthe heavens praise yourwonders, OLord,your faithfulness in the assembly ofthe holy ones!
89 : 6 Forwho in the skies can be compared to theLord?Who among the heavenly beingsis like theLord,
89 : 7 a God greatlyto be feared in the council ofthe holy ones,and awesome above allwho are around him?
89 : 8 OLordGod of hosts,who is mighty as you are, OLord,with your faithfulness all around you?
89 : 9 You rule the raging of the sea;when its waves rise, youstill them.
89 : 10 YoucrushedRahab like a carcass;youscattered your enemies with your mighty arm.
89 : 11 The heavens are yours; the earth also is yours;the world and all that is in it, you havefounded them.
89 : 12 The north and the south, you have created them;Tabor andHermonjoyously praise your name.
89 : 13 You have a mighty arm;strong is your hand, high your right hand.
89 : 14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;steadfast love and faithfulness go before you.
89 : 15 Blessed are the people who knowthe festal shout,who walk, OLord, inthe light of your face,
89 : 16 who exult in yourname all the dayand in your righteousness areexalted.
89 : 17 For you arethe glory of their strength;by your favor ourhorn is exalted.
89 : 18 For ourshield belongs to theLord,our king tothe Holy One of Israel.
89 : 19 Of old you spoke in a vision to your godly one,and said:I havegranted help to one who ismighty;I have exalted onechosen from the people.
89 : 20 I have found David, my servant;with my holy oil I haveanointed him,
89 : 21 so that myhand shall be established with him;my arm also shall strengthen him.
89 : 22 The enemy shall not outwit him;the wicked shall not humble him.
89 : 23 I willcrush his foes before himand strike down those who hate him.
89 : 24 Myfaithfulness and mysteadfast love shall be with him,and in my name shall hishorn be exalted.
89 : 25 I will set his hand onthe seaand his right hand onthe rivers.
89 : 26 He shall cry to me,You are myFather,my God, andthe Rock of my salvation.
89 : 27 And I will make him thefirstborn,the highest of the kings of the earth.
89 : 28 My steadfast love I will keep for him forever,and mycovenant will stand firmfor him.
89 : 29 I will establish hisoffspring foreverand histhrone asthe days of the heavens.
89 : 30 If his children forsake my lawand do not walk according to my rules,
89 : 31 if they violate my statutesand do not keep my commandments,
89 : 32 then I will punish their transgression withthe rodand their iniquity with stripes,
89 : 33 but I will not remove from him my steadfast loveor be false to my faithfulness.
89 : 34 I will not violate mycovenantor alter the word that went forth from my lips.
89 : 35 Once for all I have swornby my holiness;I will notlie to David.
89 : 36 Hisoffspring shall endure forever,histhrone as long asthe sun before me.
89 : 37 Likethe moon it shall be established forever,a faithful witness in the skies.Selah
89 : 38 But now you havecast off and rejected;you are full of wrath against youranointed.
89 : 39 You haverenouncedthe covenant with your servant;you havedefiled hiscrown in the dust.
89 : 40 You havebreached all his walls;you have laid his strongholds in ruins.
89 : 41 All who pass by plunder him;he has becomethe scorn of his neighbors.
89 : 42 You have exalted the right hand of his foes;you have made all his enemies rejoice.
89 : 43 You have also turned back the edge of his sword,and you have not made him stand in battle.
89 : 44 You have made his splendor to ceaseand cast his throne to the ground.
89 : 45 You have cut shortthe days of his youth;you havecovered him with shame.Selah
89 : 46 How long, OLord? Will you hide yourself forever?How long will your wrathburn like fire?
89 : 47 Rememberhow short mytime is!For what vanity you have created all the children of man!
89 : 48 What man can live and neversee death?Who can deliver his soul from the power ofSheol?Selah
89 : 49 Lord, where is yoursteadfast love of old,which by yourfaithfulness you swore to David?
89 : 50 Remember, O Lord, how your servants are mocked,and how I bear in myheart the insultsof all the many nations,
89 : 51 with which your enemies mock, OLord,with which they mockthe footsteps of youranointed.
89 : 52 Blessed be theLordforever!Amen and Amen.
